Bethany Falls Limestone

Stumbled on this trail a few weeks back. Located at Burr Oak Woods in Blue Springs, the Bethany Falls Trail is a gem. A quarter mile of the trail runs alongside limestone outcroppings, full of fossils and places in which to hide. In fact, a marker at the beginning of the trail tells how Jesse James and his gang, as well as the Kansa Indians, used these outcroppings to hide their valuables --- and themselves while on the run.

Post-script: My kids were with me the afternoon I took these shots. And, yeah, they loved it.
