The Flint Hills of Kansas

by Jeff M

Picture 2 shows the old Lower Fox Creek School in the distance, a white speck surrounded by a vista of green grasses and rolling hills. The picture was taken at the beginning of the Southwind Nature Trail, facing north. Kansas 177, a scenic byway, runs in front of the school; the highway is a near 30 mile jugular vein leading straight into the heart of an ancient, unspoiled land.
