This Immovable Leaf
This leaf outside my window has withstood the ferocity of Kansas wind, the steel-splinting Fargo snow. I should give it a name. At the very least, imbue it with a symbol, a coincidence of persona. I shall refer to it as all those who hang on, in whatever sector of society one finds him or herself in perpetual battle. Indeed, the battle goes on. We are all soldiers in the night.
